Crash
James Ballard, a producer of television commercials, and his wife Catherine lead a highly uninhibited sexual life. Following a serious car accident involving Dr. Helen Remington, which results in the death of her husband, James becomes drawn into exploring the strange relationships between danger, sex, and death. Through their encounter with Vaughan, an enigmatic photographer obsessed with car crashes, the Ballards ultimately discover a new yet troubled way of expressing their love.

David Cronenberg
Born in 1943 in Toronto, David Cronenberg is an actor, screenwriter, film maker and producer whose long fascination for the relationship between humans and machines is illustrated in his films, such as The Fly (1986) and eXistenZ (1999). The Canadian director examines the ties between eroticism and technology in Crash, his adaptation of J.G. Ballard’s 1973 novel of the same name. He portrays a world in which people align their minds, bodies, and sexuality with automotive technology. Cronenberg films this universe with striking sensuality, transforming a landscape of highways, parking lots, and garages into a cold world seemingly emptied of desire
